Al began his construction career in 1971 working as an employee for various construction companies in the Bay Area. Through these job opportunities Al was able to hone his craftsman skills and gain an invaluable experience working a variety of types of construction projects from custom homes to business complexes. In 1977 Al earned his contractor's license and began his own company, Rushton Construction, specializing in higher end custom homes and remodels. Al's attention to detail and quality product helped him earn a sterling reputation among clients, and admirable recognition among other contractors and architectural firms.
Al and David Hawley, a childhood friend and cohort, combined they skills and established Rushton-Hawley Inc. and continue to experience success as general contractors.

Job History

Dave has been an entrepreneur in the construction industry since 1971. He obtained his contractor's license in 1977 and moved on to designing and building custom spec homes in the Marin area, frequenting in Mill Valley, Kent-Woodlands, San Francisco and Stinson Beach. Dave's craftsman skills, attention to detail and quality of product have earned his a wonderful reputation among his clients, other contractors and architectural firms for his drive to achieve perfection.
Dave joined forces with Al Rushton a childhood friend and ongoing collaborator in many construction projects to form RHI, the company that is here today.

Our Project Manager brings many years of "hands on" experience and knowledge to each project. He is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient job supervision and management for the field employees, architects and owners. His priority is to assure that the highest quality of work is being preformed, within budget and on schedule. Dermot is also responsible that job safety is a priority and ensures that all our jobs are OSHA compliant.

Job History

Dermot has had 30 years of experience in the hospitality business. Working internationally in places such as London, Dublin, Ireland and Switzerland; before coming to the Bay Area, Ca. Since joining RHI Dermot has furthered his education in construction project management at the Santa Rosa JC, and currently is working on receiving his construction project management certificate at Sonoma State University.
